It was a large Church, both in number and structure and I was wandering the halls in search of a priest. I was carrying a book called The Truth and I wanted to ask the father some questions about it, when a bearded man that looked about my age stopped me. As I was peeping around, he blurted: “You look lost.” At first, I did not realize that he was talking to me, but when I did catch his eye he began to share his opinion about the book he noticed I was carrying. As it turns out, he had read it and critiqued it like a philosopher. He introduced me to his friends and we chatted only a little bit more before I knew I had made a friend. I was so excited to have met someone who seemed to share my passion for church and books.
Early winter 2011, I met Irene at church. After liturgy I saw this beautiful young lady walking around looking for someone. I had not met her and offered my help saying, “You look lost.” She was carrying a book I had read previously and I mentioned the book. She mentioned she was looking for Father Symeon to answer some concerns she had about the book. I immediately went into discussing my take on the book. From that day I looked forward to getting to know Her.
